The Borden County Water Department will be accepting applications for a Water System Operator I; Entry level position.

Under general supervision you must be able to perform skilled work in the operation of a public water supply to include treatment systems, storage, distribution systems, and water quality assurance. Operate various tools and backhoe, collect water samples, read water meters, accurately read gauges, water testing equipment, calculate chemical dosages, volumes, flow rates, etc. using water system math. General plumbing, electrical knowledge and basic computer skills desired. You must be able to work outside of normal work hours as necessary to include weekends and holidays; regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. High school graduate or equivalent; experience in water systems preferred. Special job requirements include the possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Class A CDL Texas driver’s license within three months of employment; Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Class D Water Operator’s license (groundwater) within the first year of employment; Ability to obtain various other licenses and certifications as required. Applications are available in the Borden County Judge’s Office located at 117 East Wasson, Gail, TX, 79738. Equipment Operator

Borden County is seeking applications for an Equipment Operator in Precinct #4. This employee will be performing maintenance on County roads and other duties as assigned. A basic knowledge of road maintenance and road maintenance equipment is desired. Must possess a valid CDL license or obtain one within 90 days. Candidates should be energetic with a willingness to learn and be able to work with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to lift 60 pounds and work at heights not to exceed 20 foot. A pre-employment drug test and background check will be required. Salary is competitive and benefits include health insurance, retirement and more.
